This would be a nice toggle for older seasons, or even new stuff that’s from Netflix.
Instead of downloading a bunch of singles, just download the season pack & be done with it.
This would be great for those of us using mostly torrents - season packs often have better point generation, or other bonuses.
Might even incorporate well with some of the other suggestions with season packs.
We don’t plan to support exactly this, but do plan to allow preference for a season pack over individual episodes so they will be weighted higher.
I’d be happy if you could also add support for deactivating the download of season packs, because in my experience they very often don’t work properly.
@player8472 Are you using torrents or nzbs?
I’ve never had a problem with torrent season packs, but I could see season packs on usenet getting nuked by DMCA.

Which is why it brings no advantages, just disadvantages. They are the same size as the single dl’s, but often broken.
For nzb’s, you are correct.
For torrents, this is not true.
I actually prefer torrents now, but only on private sites. But both are good methods and I love that sonarr supports both.

I use sonarr with Usenet and IPTorrents as a backup. Recently added Homeland and did series search, and boy was it a clusterfu**… Downloaded 40gb of single episodes and ended up giving up with a load of missing EPs, obviously Homeland was nuked at Usenet but it kept trying them, whereas the first result for Homeland on IPTorrents is a 20gb TV pack of s1-4 with lots of seeds. I think the weighted idea you mention would solve this.
