Nzbget --- New to Usenet, Help Appreciated

So I’m still pretty new to Usenet, and I’m getting a hang of things. I much prefer nzbget’s interface over sabznbd. nzbget also seems to work within Sonarr and I can’t get nzbget to hook up for my series, even though it says “connection successful” within the connection test.

The only issue I am finding with nzbget is that it has a command prompt popup on the startup of Windows (8.1). The problem is that I am running Plex Media Player on my HTPC box, in full screen, so this popup will disable that. Does anybody know of a way to hide this command prompt popup from interfering with Plex?

Also, I am finding Usenet great for speed, however it only seems to want to download 1 file at a time. Is this normal for Usenet? Even though my Maximum connections is set to “20”? I am using Usenetserver and nzbgeek.info. The one at a time isn’t really an issue, just curious if that’s the way it’s “supposed” to work with Usenet?

Thanks

If you’re running v15.x of NzbGet, you can disable the popup via the System Tray icon.

For NzbGet related questions, it might be better posting on their forums?

“Maximum” connections means how many outgoing connections you want to the news provider. It will grab all the articles based on those connections. As it completes the article, it’ll move on and start the next article… that may or may not be from the same nzb in the queue. To answer your quesiton, nzbget/sab are not really designed to download multiple nzb files at once, they download the articles in parallel as fast as possible then moves on.
