**Sonarr version : 2.0.0.5228 Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 5.14.0.177 OS: Ubuntu (Openflixr)
From your wiki : " If an episode is monitored and the series is not, it will be considered unmonitored."
So I checked the series, and only marked the very first episode (aired back in 2014). Correct?
From your wiki FAQ I understand that if the episode is not listed in the top 100 from the rss feed, it won’t get downloaded, unless you click manual download, correct ? (I tested this and it does work manually yes.)
But how does Sonarr handle a backlog, compared to Sickrage. I’m considering to switch to Sonarr. Will the role of thumb “if it’s not in the rss feed, then forget it” rule ?
From the FAQ,
and also when doing some searching on the forum here.
Sonarr doesn’t actively search for missing episodes. However if an old episode shows up in the RSS feeds it will be downloaded.
When adding a new old show you can manually tell it to do a episode/season search.
When it doesn’t find anything why should it do a constant backlog search ?
when it isn’t found the first time it won’t be found the second time.
but it will be found when someone post it newly on usenet/torrent.
This is also better for the indexers because the constant backlog search is a big hit on the api servers.
That’s one of the big reasons why if not mistaking sickrage was banned from a few indexers for some time (could be it was one of the other forks of sickbeard not sure anymore)
