I am trying to setup Sonarr while using several Jackett indexers and utorrent as my download client. Everything appears to be configured and the test options all pass. The current indexers I am using are RARBG, 1337x and Torrentz. I do have access to some very good private torrent sites with decent ratios already on them, but until I get everything working, I don’t want to add them just yet for fear of my ratios getting trashed when I am not paying attention. The main issue I am having is that even though everything appears to be configured correctly and utorrent is almost always running through a VPN, nothing ever seems to be downloaded. I do have Sonarr configured for future episodes only but I know one of my series had a new episode come out but it was never added as a torrent. I feel like I am missing something which wouldn’t be too much of a surprise since the whole sonarr/jackett etc thing feels like a rabbit hole of endless software installs and configs(not a complaint). I disabled the antivirus software in case it was blocking something. Both Sonarr and Jackett are installed on the same server so firewalls shouldn’t be an issue. It feels like it should be something simple like an option I didn’t configure correctly, but at this point, I am at a loss. I have looked through several guides on setting all of this up and nothing is really standing out as the culprit. I have utorrent setup and the webui option enabled using an alternate port which tests correctly from within Sonarr. utorrent version is 3.5.4.
Any ideas what to look at? There don’t seem to be any obvious errors.
I would suggest trying to nail down which is the problem. Jackett or Sonarr
Do a manual search in the indexers and see if jackett finds it
Do a manual search and see if sonarr finds it (you want a result without the yellow warning icon, however if you have no results without the icon then that will also point you in the right direction because you can look at the errors and proceed)
If you run into issues on either one, troubleshoot that one first instead of trying to look at the issue from a whole. If you still cant track down the issue there are log files as well that can be viewed. Also you can repost back here when you have a little more specific information and not quite so broad.
Ok. So we are definitely getting closer. I tested the 3 indexers and searches for all worked correctly. I then picked a series and did “search monitored” and then clicked on the search icon next to the most recent episode and it was added to utorrent and started downloading. Woo hoo. So now I need to figure out why it isn’t all happening automatically. Definitely getting closer.
So my first show downloaded without any intervention. I don’t know if anything changed but I did go back and reconfigure Sonarr to run as a service. Hopefully it keeps working! I will definitely be making a donation to Sonarr.
