I currently have all shows set to download as SDTV. Nothing else. Just the last week Drone has begun grabbing files which are labeled SDTV but are in .mkv format. How can I configure Drone to never download .mkv files?
Thanks!

x264 SDTV releases have been common for a long time, the opposite question came up recently (how to avoid xvid SDTV releases), just add a restriction for x264 instead of xvid, as described in this thread: http://forums.nzbdrone.com/discussion/comment/2145
x264 format doesn’t equal .mkv for example:
Source:
D:\Downloads\Fifth.Gear.S23E09.HDTV.x264-TLA\fifth.gear.s23e09.hdtv.x264-tla.mp4
Both XVID and x264 are compatible with my stream setup. .mkv is not. Does drone parse the entire file name? can I not exclude .mkv?
I guess whats confusing is that i have the show quality set to SDTV as only option but it downloads the above file for instance. Not sure but that’s how i want it!
mkv is just a container, which contains x264 video with an audio stream. Drone doesn’t know the filename when processing, just the release name, which in your example is: Fifth.Gear.S23E09.HDTV.x264-TLA
The only solution right now would be to exclude all x264 releases.
I’ll do that then. Although i find that over half the shows that are downloaded are x264 .mp4 files so that might cause some issues with shows being missed. Any way to add file name exclusion as a feature?
also thanks for the help! I wish other software i use had so little problems that i could get this nit picky!
No, there is no way to exclude them as the filename is unknown until its downloaded, by then its too late.
I think i’ll just blacklist the scene group first. I went back through my history. 90% of all shows are x264.mp4. If that doesn’t work i’ll go back in and try x264 exclusion.
Thanks!
