Nas died, sonarr not detecting that files are missing

Sonarr version (exact version):
3.0.10.1567

Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
6.12.0.200

OS:
Linux mint 21.x

Description of issue:
My NAS died, i need to download everything again.

I have built a new volume on my NAS which is empty, i had hoped that sonarr would realise that everything had disappeared and download it again but it does not.

If i manually recreate an individual tv show directory, sonarr will then notice that it’s empty and get on with searching and sending a report to sab.

The problem is that there are far too many shows for me to do this manually and i wondered how i can do a bulk operation to either have sonarr recreate the directory structure and then rescan or something else?

I also noticed that V4 is out now but i’d rather fix this before trying an upgrade if possible.

If it’s still showing that there are files:

  • Sonarr > Settings > Media Management > disable Unmonitor Deleted Episodes if it’s enabled
  • Sonarr > Series > click the Update All button

Once the update is finished, or if it’s not showing there are any files:

  • Sonarr > Wanted > Missing > select a few > click Search Selected
  • if successful, click Search All

Once finished, create a Sonarr backup and update Sonarr to v4.

If everything in the root folder is missing then Sonarr treats it as disconnected and won’t rescan and detect that the files are missing, you’ll need to create an empty folder in the root folder so it’s no longer empty.
