Inconsistent Anime Tag Restriction Settings Resulting in Unwanted Downloads

Description of issue:
For anime series, I only want to download HorribleSubs releases, which are always labelled in square brackets eg. [HorribleSubs]
I have a profile created called Anime that is set for HDTV-1080p and English. The series type is Anime.
I have a Restriction set for Must Contain: [HorribleSubs] and Tags: Anime
For the most part this works and only downloads 1080p HorribleSubs releases. However, occasionally it will download other groups like Erai-raws, which are also labelled in square brackets.
I have tried various combinations in the Restriction setting including horriblesubs and [horibblesubs] and adding a Must Not Contain of erai-raws or [erai-raws]. However, I still get erroneous downloads. The incorrect releases are always also labelled in square brackets and I wonder if this is somehow related?

Any advice or input would be appreciated!

Hi fanboy,

I have the same setup for Anime to download in Sonarr for HorribleSubs. Let me know if you have the same settings.

Under Indexers > Restrictions, my setup looks like the following:

And my Series that I am downloading contains the tag which was used to set the wanted/unwanted keywords

My restrictions are the same for all intents and purposes. However, I don’t have the tag set in each series. My understanding was that by choosing the Series type as Anime it was pseudo-tagged and automatically applied the Anime restriction. I recall reading that way back, can’t find where that is mentioned though at the moment. If need be I can go through add manually add the tag to each series and see if that helps.

No, that is not the case (and never has) though we do have an open issue to automatically create tags based on the series type for that purpose.

Very cool Markus! Would look forward to an enhancement like that.

But fanboy yes you would need to set the tag for every series you add to Sonarr. Ie. I have all my anime set with the “anime” tag I created.

Hope it helps.

Weird. Because for the vast majority of my downloads it has been downloading 1080p Horriblesubs releases. Just occasionally it would grab something else.

Regardless, I’ve now manually gone through and set the anime tag, so hopefully that will fix it completely.

Thanks!
