Importing of files once downloaded

This is my first post to the forum. I have looked for information around my issue but have not found a solution.

I have setup Sonarr and it will pass episodes to nzbget for download and this works fine. The problem comes with importing the file. I am running videosorts in nzbget to rename files based on folder name. Once renamed the file is moved to the same destination folder as set in Sonarr. However, the file is not imported. I have looked at the log and the issue is that Sonarr is looking for the file in a folder with the episode name. I am able to create a folder in the main download folder with the file name and place the file in that. Sonarr then imports the file.

Now, I can’t see an option to set videosorts to leave the renamed file in the download folder so Sonarr finds the file it is looking for. Perhaps the only way to fix this to not run the videosorts script on Sonarr files and have Sonarr rename the file?

If this is the case, how do I get Sonarr to just rename the files based on folder name as I do not see this option in the settings?

We recommend not having anything else rename files before Sonarr imports them as that can lose information valuable to Sonarr.

Sonarr uses the path that nzbget provides to look for files to import, if Video sort is altering that in some way or putting them in a folder with a different name then Sonarr won’t find them.

Disabling renaming or using {Original Title} will achieve that in most cases (it will unless Sonarr thinks the filename is a better choice).
