How does Sonarr remembers that a file has been downloaded?

Hi,

This is the first time I’m using Sonarr and I’m coming from Sickbeard & SickRage. I don’t keep the files in the folder that Sonarr places them after they are renamed. I move them to another device. So I was wondering, how does Sonarr keep track of what it downloads so it doesn’t download them again? For example, SB keeps a copy of the nzb that was used to get the file. I’m asking because I noticed that the Toggle Monitored Status didn’t turn white after the file was downloaded so I’m concern that once the files are moved, it’ll re-download them again.

Also, in SR there’s a setting to remove the year in the file name. Is there a way to do this in Sonarr too? Thanks

It won’t, you’ll need to set Ignore Deleted Episodes and Sonarr will unmonitor (ignore) the file when it detects its missing during the disk scan (every 12 hours).

If the file is there it uses the file to track it, otherwise if left monitored and moved/deleted then Sonarr will treat the episode as missing and wait for another copy.

Just changed the setting, thanks!
