How does Sonarr handle scene numbering issues actually work?

I just have a quick question regarding the way scene number handling issue works. I’ve noticed a show that in my list currently has a difference between thetvdb and the scene numbering. I’ve checked on theXEM and it was fixed last night to make the appropriate adjustment. How is this change reflected in Sonarr? In this instance episode 13 of the master branch is no longer associated with any files from the scene and episode 14 is linked to episode 13 from the scene and so on.

However when I refresh the show in Sonarr the file list is still the same? How does the whole mis-numbered thing work?

It only applies when importing or matching a possible download, files already sorted are assumed to be properly numbered (and Sonarr will rename according to TheTVDB numbering when importing).

If the name is coming from a “scene” (import/indexer) source Sonarr will look it up by the scene season and episode numbers and link it to the appropriate TVDB numbers.

Any changes made on TheXEM.de take place when the series is refreshed (every 12 hours).

So does this mean the files that I already have that are numbered correctly, but for all purposes are labelled as the wrong episode name will be fixed after the show refresh? Or will I have to manually go and fix those once the show has been fixed?

Thanks!

TheXem.de is used for numbering issues only. What do you mean they have the wrong name?

You have to manually rename files, Sonarr doesn’t do it automatically.

Because the episode numbers are currently “wrong” (well they haven’t propogated to Sonarr yet) the episode names will be wrong once the update takes place. So I’ll just manually need to change the name?

EDIT: I’ll check once the update comes through but I think I get what you mean thanks.

Sorry I’m still a little slow on this here is the link in question

Do I just ignore episode 13 in the master and label my local files as 14 and 15, then in future when it finds the scene release it just links to the appropriate episode in sonarr?

Yeah, name the last two files as 14 and 15 respectively, then download the special (TVDB S05E13) and move it manually and name it S05E13, then refresh the series in Sonarr and rename it if you want.

I just had to do this for this show myself.

@markus101 thanks for fixing Pretty Little Liars on theXEM (I was getting confused trying to create the correct draft for the show!)

Am I the only one seeing Pretty Little Liars being downloaded S05E15 but Sonarr thinks its S05E16, Sonarr also thought last week was E15 but it wasnt.

Season 05 Episode 15 came out last night

sonarr uses thexem to map the scene release to the tvdb numbering. So it’s actually working as expected…

Then either something else is wrong or im blind but when i look at imdb:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1578873/episodes?season=5&ref_=tt_eps_sn_5

Episode 13,14,15,16 have different names and release date is different on 16.

Please start a new topic when it has nothing to do with the original post.

Its because the episode that was released as a special online was actually supposed to be S05E13, but the scene releases TVDB S05E14 as S05E13 so everything is off by one, which is what thexem.de is used for.
