How do I disable 'Open browser on start' when running as a service under Windows 7?

Is this possible? If not, why?

If I switch to adding sonarr to my startup items vs. a system service, what are the drawbacks?

Thanks for any help.

When running as a service Sonarr won’t open a browser because services are meant to run in the backgroup, without a user interface, if you run Sonarr via the startup folder you have the option of opening the browser on start (default is on), this setting is on the General settings page.

Hmm, mine does open the browser window when running as a service and I don’t want it to.

It doesn’t (I’m 100% sure about this) but if you run Sonarr a second time (startup folder, or manually) Sonarr will interpret that as you wanting to open the browser.

I double checked my startup folder; no .exe for sonarr.

I was ultimately able to fix the issue by running ServiceUninstall.exe restarting (upon restart, no browser popup), then reinstalling the service with ServiceInstall.exe. No other actions were performed to resolve the issue.

Perhaps a bug?

Either way, glad it’s resolved.

Also seems strange that my install folder is still named NzbDrone from when it was installed prior to the name change. The .exe located in the folder is still called NzbDrone.exe as well.

Not strange, necessary to ensure nothing is broken by changing the name, we’ll be addressing this in v3.
