Getting MVGroup working with Jackett

Sonarr version (exact version): 3.0.6.1265
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
OS: Windows 10 Pro

Description of issue: MVGroup not searching properly

I have a bunch of documentaries that I want to download but cannot get MVGroup downloads working through Sonar.

The reason being is that the search in the Jackett logs look like this
BBC Documentaries 2021.08.31

In a manual Sonar Search I see this for the title
BBC Documentaries-2021-08-31-9/11: Inside the President’s War Room

It seems to be stripping off the Title name for some reason.

This looks to be a Sonar issue as no matter what options I select to strip different strings off of the title, the problem seems to ultimately lie in the way Sonar is searching.

Looking at Sonar logs I see this

The season and episode number do seem to match what is in Sonar.

Manually searching in Jackett with the title below returns the proper episode:
9/11: Inside the President’s War Room

Is this a known issue and possibly how to resolve it? I don’t want to manually download these files if I don’t have to.

  1. sonarr never searches episode title so there’s no issue there

  2. see the search troubleshooting on the wiki this is a common problem and the logs are explicitly telling you what part of the issue is… you have the series set to standard when episodes are released as daily

Setting it to either standard or daily still fails to find anything. Let me look at search troubleshooting to see if I can figure out what is going on.

I’ve went over the search troubleshooting but that doesn’t seem to help. It seems some of the documentaries I am wanting to download are posted by the title only and not season/episode.

It would be nice if we could have more control over how Sonar submits its searches specifically for documentaries so we can get better matching/automation.
