Description of issue: How to get rid of “www.UIndex.org -” in a filename

A lot of torrent files are showing up that have “www.UIndex.org -” in front of the actual file name. Some l33t release group must find it interesting to put their website in every file they seed. Very annoying.
So, how do I get rid if this? Is it possible to use Episode renaming to strip that from the filename?

Following up on my initial question; is it possible to use full regex in the renaming ui, or are we limited to the options given?

You’re limited to the options available, regex is not available and at this time not something we plan to implement.

As long as you don’t use original naming tokens that shouldn’t be part of the final file name though.

Yes, you can get rid of it easily via the renaming options in Sonarr. Enable automatic renaming and Sonarr will rename the files with the correct format without keeping this kind of prefix. It works perfectly in my house!

How do i strip off the beginning of a filename whilst keeping the rest as it is?

Sonarr renames everything perfectly I also seen that UIndex on a lot of downloads but sonar gets rid of it, cheers.

With Sonarr, you can’t, you either leave the file names as-is or you have Sonarr rename the files, perhaps to a similar format of the release names.

How did you do this? According to Markus it is not possible in Sonarr

It gets rid of it by renaming the files, you can’t have Sonarr keep the original name and remove things from it, you either use renaming or you don’t.
