Failed to import episode, destination already exists

Sonarr version (exact version): 3.0.6.1342
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 5.20.1.34
OS: Synology DS1621+

Description of issue:

I have been running Sonarr on a computer for years with no problems. I have just recently bought a Synology NAS and have now setup Sonarr/Radarr/Sabnzbd/Plex to all run on the synology.

Everything is working well except for the final step of moving and renaming downloaded files from SABnzbd into the appropriate folders. I’ve tried reading a bunch of threads and posts and have played with the remote mapping, folder permissions and just can’t seem to get it right.

At the moment, Sonarr appears to actually move a copy of the file into the correct folder but it doesn’t move or delete the downloaded file in the download folder.

I’ve got the error ‘Failed to import episode, destination already exists’ multiple times and then find the video file in the right folder. Other times I have got the simple ‘failed to import episode’ message.

I am trying my best here… but am not super sophisticated when it comes to all of this, so any help is much appreciated!

I’ve tried to attach log file as instructed… not sure I got it right.

If SAB and Sonarr are on the same device why do you have a remote path map? There is no need for that.

The failed to import is a file system issue. Due to your naming schema resulting in the existing and to be replaced field having the same name. Some file systems cannot handle that. Change up your naming schema - see the wiki settings page for suggested naming formats

Why is plex configured (incorrectly) in Sonarr? There’s no news to notify plex of new files unless it cannot watch the file system for some reason (only needed if plex accesses its library over certain network mounts).

Thank you very much for the reply bakerboy448! Really appreciate the help.

I have removed the remote pathing. I wasn’t sure why I did need it… but everything I could find about failing to move/delete files referenced it. Either way - it’s now removed.

I also removed the plex connection… which I did use before and worked well to trigger the library update on the plex side, but I’ve removed for now.

And I went in and changed all the naming schema in the Sonarr settings.

I just did another test download and the file downloaded as requested, the file was copied and moved to the appropriate folder and named according to my the naming schema.

The only thing it does not do is delete the original file in the SABnzbd downloads/complete folder. You can see that the file is a different name in downloads/complete vs my media folder - so your reasoning doesn’t seem to be working out unless I’ve done something wrong which is entirely possible.

is removed completed downloads for SAB enabled in Sonarr & is SABnzbd in categories configured to +Delete

Hi again… sorry for delay.

So yes to both questions.

Remove completed downloads is enabled in Sonarr:

And in SABnzbd the ‘default’ was +delete. The other types were still ‘default’, but I don’t do any sorting in SABnzbd.

Any ideas on why this is still not working?
