Description of issue:
I’m looking at moving a Windows instance of Sonarr to a NAS instance using the API and/or Sonarr’s Import Lists function but having difficulty understanding the process and features.

I’ve seen comments here about using the API to generate a list of TV series to json but I can’t find anywhere that this list can be imported?

So I then moved onto using the Import Lists function.

The first thing I see is that this requires a working instance of Sonar to import from rather than a list but I entered all the relevant data (although I could only select one Quality profile on the target but multiple on the Source?) and it “Tested” ok.

Since this is on a 5min cycle I went to Tasks and ran the Import List Sync task now. It ran but reported:
2025-09-25 12:32:54.8|Info|ImportListSyncService|Starting Import List Sync
2025-09-25 12:32:54.8|Info|ImportListSyncService|No list items to process

So at this point I’m stuck. Is there anywhere that describes this (or other import) processes in more detail?

Why not just Backup and Restore?

That’s where I started and that’s were I found that the sonarr.db on my Windows PC wasn’t accepted by sonarr on my NAS. Still trying to work out why as Win<->Mac xfers work fine.

Thanks for explaining That makes sense I’ll double-check the list settings and make sure it’s public and properly linked. Appreciate the help
