Episodes not being downloaded?

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.5344
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 5.10.1.57
OS: TrueNAS 12
Description of issue:

I noticed I’m behind several episodes on multiple series. This started few days ago, after I I installed a new jail and restored the database from the backup. I tried restarting the service this morning and no dice. Can you please let me know what should I check? Episodes download fine if I manually perform an automated search.

For example, there is one episode available for download if I manually search for, but the logs show otherwise:

The only thing that is useful is debug logs from RSS syncs after the release is available to see why it’s being rejected.

@markus101, here it is the debug log entry for an episode which should download, but it does not. Everything looks OK, I have no idea why the episode is not downloaded.

That’s the processing of the release, which does accept it. After all releases are processed Sonarr will grab accepted releases (the best available one for each episode), did that fail?

@markus101 what exactly you are looking for? There are hundreds of nzb releases, spread though many debug.txt files, I need to search for an exact match, I’m sure you don’t want me to update 8x1MB worth of logs. Can you give me the Event keywords you want and I will search around this through logs?

I can do a specific search into logs, for example:

grep -A5 -B5 -i 'the.stand' *.txt

If I have an Event keyword, I will find right away what you need. Here it is a sample out of the HUGE terminal output. for the above command:

Specifically the point where it was actually grabbed. Which based on your grep isn’t there, it’ll log: Report sent to NameOfDownloadClient. ReleaseName. Are your previous logs with the release being accepted from a search? If so they’re meaningless, they won’t help determine why a release wasn’t grabbed.

Hour long gaps in the RSS feed means there is an hour worth of content Sonarr did not see and cannot process. Is the RSS Sync interval set to 15 minutes (default) or something else?

@markus101 I never download from Torznab as I added this as a test from Jackett, let me disable it… I did search for:

No results. The RSS Sync interval set to 30min like it was when I was able to download the episodes. I’ve set the sync at 15min, removed the Torznab indexers and cleared the debug logs, to start from scratch.

I restarted the service:

sonarr is running as pid 2049.

If I perform manually an automated search, the episodes download fine. I cannot look at old logs because I had to-create the jail, due to disk failure. I used the backup generated by Sonarr to restore the config and database. Ultimately, I will install from scratch and manually enter all settings, to see if it works.

The part that I don’t understand is why when I manually to an automated search, the result is sent to SABnzbd without issues. What exactly am I missing?

RSS Sync isn’t a search, it’s only going to fetch the recent 100 items for the specified categories, covering everything in there, besides failed download handling this is the only way Sonarr finds new releases.

@markus101, I think I understand how Sonarr works now. Sonarr pulls the RSS feed from indexers every 15 minutes or whatever is set. If any episode in there is wanted, it will send the nzb to downloader. So if nobody posts the episodes, they will never be automatically found and downloaded.
