Episodes Monitored But Season Isn't

I’m having the same issue as well, Yesterday Sonar spontaneously decided to download 3 episodes of Westworld even though the season was marked as unmonitored.

However, when I expanded the season, the season was “unmonitored” (unchecked) but the individual episodes were still checked.

I would have thought that untagging a season would untag its children episodes, but this does not seem to be the case.

Split because this is not the same issue (the other thread indicates Sonarr did not grab the episode multiple times).

It should, tough to say why it didn’t (or if they were remonitored somehow).

We’ll need some more information to investigate further:

Sonarr version (exact version):
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
OS:

Also if you could PM me a copy of your database I want to check a couple things on the series to see if this is something we’ve run into before but haven’t pinpointed the cause.

Sonarr: 2.0.0.4645 - Mar 7 2017
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit 1607

Thanks for the DB copy. I’ll take a look and see what I can find.

I know it’s been a while since you added these series, but trying to understand the issue further I have a few questions.

Were these series added to Sonarr via the UI or was something else used to add them?
Do you recall which monitoring option was chosen when the series were added?

I see a few other cases where the season is unmonitored, but the episodes within it are.

Any updates on this? Sonarr has been behaving itself, but today it decided “What the heck, lets download Game Of Thrones 602!”

I only add series through the UI.

When adding a new series, I stick with the defaults, monitor missing, Series type standard, no season dirs.

I’d then go through the series and mark the past seasons as unmonitored.

Thanks for the extra information, this may be related to another issue we recently had reported:

Though, that’s from an app that uses the Sonarr API, not the UI directly. Though we may have the same bug (we need to do some more testing around it).
