Episodes are downloading but not importing

I have a number of series set up to download via torrents over vpn. All works as expected - the episodes download, are removed from qTorrent and then often just don’t import.

The reason is either because a) the download includes a non episode - (eg promo for the group that uploaded it) OR because there is a better version already on the system.

Once one episode ends up in this state no further episodes are automatically imported so I have to go do a manual import and then delete everything in downloads.

Is there a way to tell Sonarr to import valid files and just ignore the non-valid ones without stopping the whole process?

What is removing from qbittorent? If they are removes Sonarr won’t know they are there waiting to be imported.

As long as there is a video file Sonarr doesn’t care about the promos, etc, it will just ignore them. In the case of the better version Sonarr won’t import it, in that case the workaround is to remove it from the download client or change the category (label) in the download client.

One episode not being able to import won’t prevent another download from importing, sounds like something else is the matter.

We’ll need to see ((debug logs)) that show the issue importing to troubleshoot this.

I have enabled logs so will wait for it to get clogged again.

What is removing from qbittorent? If they are removes Sonarr won’t know they are there waiting to be imported.

Previously Sonarr was ignoring anything if it was still seeding and I had no limit. I set the seeding limit in qTorrent and then Sonarr would import once seeding was complete.

One thing I have noticed was that when I go to Wanted > Manual Import and then select my directory, Automatic Import just doesn’t do anything if any of these sample files are in there. I have to go through and select the episodes I want to import by hand.

Currently The Goldbergs and Fargo are both missing - they’re visible in the downloads folder but because of the two flagged items above I can’t do an automatic import.

The logs show the Goldbergs released being processed (but not grabbed) and no attempt to import it.

Do the releases show in Sonarr’s activity?
Do you still have Qbit removing downloads when they complete? If so, disable that, that will cause Sonarr to never import the download because it is treated as downloaded from the queue. Sonarr tracks downloads in the download client to know what is downloading, what needs to be imported and what has finished seeding (for removal when Remove Completed Downloads is enabled.
