Sonarr version 2.0.0.5344: Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): OS: Windows 7 Pro Debug logs: Description of issue: Sonarr lists the show episode as “Spitting Image - 20x07 - Episode 7” but several indexers have is listed the was Plex describes it: “Spitting Image 2020 S02E07 720P WEB-DL X264-CITIDEL”. In other words, Sonarr is ignoring the “Name - SxxExx - title” pattern.
Is there a setting I should use that would make Sonarr include hits matching the “Season-n-n-Episode-n-n” pattern?
There is also the issue of whether this show is a new show from 2020 that is now in season 2 or a continuation of the original, now in season 20. I recognize that there is nothing Sonarr can do about that
Those aren’t the same format, similar, but not the same.
Is this the issue? Or is Sonarr parsing something wrong, it’s not clear because you mention the format Plex expects and then list a completely different format.
Sonarr gets all metadata from TheTVDB and it looks like both the 1984 series with 20 seasons and the 2020 series with 2 seasons.
Hi marcus101. You said “First thing, upgrade Sonarr to v3”, That’s part of my problem, I’m sure. However I am on Windows 7 and I believe Sonarr 3 will not run on Windows 7. There are reasons (personal) that I cannot upgrade to Windows 10 for at least 2 more years.
You also said of the pattern: “Those aren’t the same format, similar, but not the same.”
I agree. I was thinking of the middle part not the whole thing. I now also realize that it’s probably not the problem because others shows with that pattern are found and handled correctly.
Then I mentioned the question of season 20 of the original show versus season 2 of the new show. I now realize that THIS IS THE PROBLEM.
TheTVDB has decided, for whatever reason to list the show twice – with both the old numbering and the new. Scene posters are creating links with one numbering system or the other, but not both. Sonarr has - correctly I think - decided that it is now season 20 of the continuing show. This appears to make it not recognize the Season 2 versions.
If you can’t install .net 4.6.2 on Windows 7 (I don’t know if it is or isn’t possible) then look at using another system or VM with a supported OS, because we’re not going to support Sonarr v2.
In all likelihood they don’t want this and it’ll get fixed, but they probably aren’t aware or are investigating.
