I’ve noticed something for a while now with XBMC. XBMC does not recognize any episodes beginning with a number. For example Hostages.S01E04.2-45.PM.[HDTV-720p].mkv won’t get picked up by the scanner.
Is there a way that ND can recognize a file name with a number and then replace it with a dash instead of a period?
I am aware of the option to use the dash as a separator but I use the period so it is an issue for me. Maybe an option to consider for those using the “period” separator.
Unfortunately after giving it some thought, this is not something we want to take on.
Can I ask why? I did some testing and it actually works with an extra period. Is it something that’s hard to implement?
Yes, its because of how hard it would be to implement, I’m actually in the middle of re-writing the naming configuration and how its configured. The new method is much more flexible, but means doing something like this would be harder to implement.
While I’m all for making things better this is one case where I don’t feel it would be the best option.
