Enable RSS Sync/Enable Search what's the difference?

I always thought if i enable the following option in the indexer “Enable RSS Sync” it would mean that those indexers where used for daily options.
And if i use “Enable Search” they would be used for forced manual or forced automatic searching.

Why ?
I got a few indexers that i mainly use for older releases (let’s say i want to start a certain long time running serie from start).
Those indexers have a huge resource of older series but hardly new ones or very late.
A few trackers are stupid and allow rarred torrents.(with manual search i can double check first)

So I thought when I disable “Enable RSS Sync” with those indexers they wouldn’t be used for daily running shows searches,

it seemed to work because all my downloads where from the indexers that had “Enable RSS Sync” enabled.
But today i noticed a episode was grabbed from a indexer that had that option disabled and only had “Enable Search” enabled.

So my question what’s the difference between those 2 options and what do they do ?
or was this just a little hick up ?

Your general assumption is right, but for example, if a RSS downloaded episode fails, Sonarr will trigger a search.
So there are still some scenarios where a search is performed in automatic daily processing.

ahh that’s what happend i think,
well seems i need to disable those indexers and enable them when needed for backlog search.
