Empty Folders Created Series files don't go in any of them

Hello All,

Noob here. I am using Sonarr 2.0.0.3357 Deluge 1.3.11 Both running on a windows 7 desktop. I Am running a separate dell server running 2008r2. I have 8 drives in various sizes and use them to store movies and shows for Plex to get as the media server is loaded there. I was using RSS feeds in Utorrent before KAT started using torrcache and now they do not work. So here I am. Everything I was able to poke around and configure fine however I am stuck with one issue. After giving rights to the drives over the network I got Sonarr to create the empty folders based on the series I have loaded. However if I have the series manually download an episode however it goes to the root of the TV Shows folder instead of the folder its intended to go in. For example I use a mapped drive T:\ which represents the TV Shows folder. I add a series like Tree-house Masters and a folder inside TV Shows appears however if I initiate a manual download it goes to the root of the TV Shows folders. Any help would be appreciated.

Sonarr only moves files to series folders, sounds like something else moved them.

Make sure you look at this: https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/FAQ#why-cant-sonarr-see-my-files-on-a-remote-server

Hey markus101 thanks for replying. It may be me not understanding the terminology of sonarr. I am under the impression it is used as a glorified rss feed that when a new file is found to match the criteria it uses a downloader and downloads the file. In utorrent when you use a rss feed you have a Downloader option so you can point a feed to a particular location. Sonarr has a path in each series and I thought that represents what I explained above. Now if create empty folder is checked as a test to see if the software can write to the network path it does after I adjusted permissions. I did figure out that a reboot of sonarr and deluge enabled the newly downloaded file to show up in the created folder. Now my question is whats the point of a drone factory, I read the articles but just havnt had the ahh ha moment as to the purpose.

Sonarr finds episode
passes torrent file to deluge
deluge downloads to a staging folder on local machine
Somehow the finished file ends up in its own folder on my network share on my server. I am assuming sonarr is doing this.

Drone Factory is the legacy import method, its replace with Completed Download Handling (CDH) which properly handles seeding torrents.

Sonarr is responsible for the copying/hardlinking (depending on your setup/system) the file using CDH. CDH checks with Deluge to see when downloads are seeding and imports them automatically.

Thanks man. Got it all working mostly. The files now go into the folders specified point he series path. One of them I cannot get to create for example.

\serverjuan\t$\Soap Operas
Created a Series for The Young and the Restless and there is now a a folder called The Young and the Restless. However if I go to add another one for r\serverjuan\t$\Soap Operas ie The Bold and the Beautiful it gives me a root folder already exists error. I guess I am confused as I have tons of series pointing to a root folder and folders are creating fine for them. Also what do you do in a case where another example The Young and the Restless series every episode when manually searched shows "Episode not requested or wrong episode on every one of them. Even then I shoot to the Bold and Beautiful series and it shows no results for every episode in the season even though you can search it letter for letter in Kick Ass and IPtorrents which is what I am using for indexers. What are you thoughts?

Bump Please still have some that are all missing even though KAT has them. Also new question.

I have a show that states 0 seeders or not enough seeders. But if you click the show it takes me to KAT and there are 9 is that not high enough?

An individual series needs to have its own folder, when you add a new series you select the root folder and Sonarr creates a series folder for it when importing episodes.

If the episodes aren’t uploaded in a standard format there may be nothing you can do, they either need a date or SxxEyy.

The seeder count may be wrong on the API and be coming in as zero, this is an API problem, the minimum seeder count is 1.

Understood, So I am reading today that KAT is reporting seeders delayed or something? SO the only fix to that would be to use a different indexer? Whats one you recommend that I can get invites to?

Also , and I hate bothering you I wish I could just talk on the phone lol I had a show hit from IPT and it was a bunch of rar files, I have the extract plugin but nothing seems to do anything. I am not sure where to make the rar get extracted then passed to the series path.

I’m not sure if they are delayed or not, but not sure what other options there are.

Have the extract plugin extract in place and Sonarr will import via Completed Download Handling.

So sonar gives the file to deluge and it places the finished file in C:\Users\WAR-ROOM\Downloads\Complete

So should the extractor be set to there as well? Also does sonar remove the copies in the Complete folder as they are copying to my netowork drives fine but sticking around even after being removed or paused in deluge.

Sonarr doesn’t remove the sorted file when the download is completed in Deluge it would only remove the torrent and seeding file(s) from Deluge.

The location where the extractor extracts to needs to be dynamic and will depend where the torrent is downloaded to/seeding from.

Understood. I have it now flashing a command screen and creating a sub folder with a rar extension with the show in it so I guess its working. Thanks also have another question in regarding Bitmetv adding as indexer. DO you support those questions?

Unless BitmeTV has a proper API (most torrent sites don’t) we won’t consider adding it, but Jackett might (works along side Sonarr).
