Dumb Newbie Question

Recently moved to Sonarr after final giving up on TVShows2 and think it’s a great application.

Have it working for downloads, even with the restrictions in the UKon torrent websites, I’m running OSX El Capo and not seeing any of the start up issues that people mention as I have it set as a login item so starts automatically.

Download client is transmission and everything that side works, however annoyingly I have two copies of the completed download file, one in transmission and one on the series/season folder. Is there anyway to stop it moving to the root folder so it only stays in transmission? I have a few automated scripts that handles the file after down load (stripping out sample files, importing to iTunes through iFlicks2) part of which moves the correctly names file to the folder which Sonarr monitors.

Not a major annoyance as the files are stored on a NAS so disk space is not an issue, but my OCD kicks in when I see duplicate files lol!

This is expected.

I understand that is the prescribed way of working, however is it possible in the settings to stop this happening so that it only downloads the file and then stops processing afterwards so a third party can handle the import?

Turn off Completed Download Handling, though Sonarr will show the files as missing until it sees them in the series folder.

Thanks, will give that a try, I assume the worse that could happen is that it could initiate another download of the same episode while it is waiting for it to be shown in the series folder?

Pretty much, but that would only happen if its an upgrade in quality (depends on your profile) or a proper (depends on your settings).
