I’m having some issues with NZBdrone downloading episodes twice. Usually I will download an episode of say Homeland when I turn my PC on in the morning and then it will re download the next morning.
I’m not deleting the episodes for at least a week (until the next one comes out) so I don’t think drone is trying to replace a missing episode …
If anyone has any ideas and can help me out that would be awesome,
In your Settings > Media Management options, is “Ignore Deleted Episodes” enabled or not? I think for your scenario (deleting episodes once watched) it’s probably good to have it enabled.
Drone will download and “know” about the episode, after a week or whenever you delete it, drone will remember that “hey, I have already downloaded this in the past” so even though it’s gone from disk, it will not attempt to download it again.
Assuming that option is enabled, downloading again after a day is weird.
Maybe they are propers? You’ll find this setting under Media Management as well (enable advanced settings at the top).
The other thing I can think of is maybe the way your quality profiles are set up. E.g. download HDTV, WEB-DL, Bluray, with Bluray as the cutoff quality. Monday: HDTV is posted and downloaded. Tuesday: WEB-DL is posted and downloaded, HDTV is deleted.
I currently have “Ignored Deleted Episodes” enabled so I don’ think it’s that and as for downloading propers I have that option disabled.
I have all my shows set to the quality profile HD-720p (one of the pre made ones) what would be the best setting to change this to so that as long as the quality is above SD it will download but then after one download it stops searching?
Explanation:
Download anything in HDTV-720p or better, stop downloading when HDTV-720p or better is encountered.
Feel free to untick things you don’t want either, e.g. 1080p quality, whichever. Just make sure that HDTV-720p is at the bottom, and is set as cutoff quality.
I don’t recall what the default HD-720p profile looks like… probably it has the cutoff as WEB-DL or higher, so drone will first grab HDTV and work its way up.
By default, the HD-720p profile will keep downloading unitl it reaches the HDTV-720p cutoff. I recently had a similar situation because I had my cutoff set backwards from what I wanted; generally it was finding (and downloading) the WEBDL-720p first, and then later finding and downloading the HDTV-720p version later (because that was my cutoff). I thought that I needed the cutoff set to the highest quality to have it stop after it found any of those qualities, when in fact the cutoff needs to be set to the lowest quality in the list in order to stop after it finds any of them. If you set your cutoff for the quality listed last in your profile, then once it finds one episode it should never download another (unless you have propers enabled, which you don’t).
In my case, I prefer 720p first, but I’ll take anything besides bluray in 1080 or 720. This is my preferred profile (with the cutoff set to the lowest quality in the list). This profile has not done the “double down” on my since I set it up.
For the episodes that drone is grabbing twice, that series has the profile that you linked attached? Were the files already imported (shown as as imported with the proper quality)?
[debug logs] (https://github.com/NzbDrone/NzbDrone/wiki/Log-Files) showing the grab would be helpful as it should show whats going on. Ideally logs showing the original grab, the import and the second grab would give us the best insight into what is going on.
I’m not sure how to post the correct piece of the log you are looking for however I do have a screenshot of my history showing both downloads (one yesterday and one today) perhaps that will help?
The episodes are never imported according to that screenshot. Do you have completed download handling disabled or drone factory set to the same folder?
When an episode finishes downloading, what do you expect to happen to it?
Thanks for the screenshot. The first thing we should sort out is why episodes aren’t showing in the history as imported in drone. I have some questions that should help sort this out.
D:\Downloads - is that the folder where SAB puts them after downloading?
Are your series folders under that path as well?
Lets start with one series, whats the path for Modern Family?
For one of the grabbed episodes of Modern Family, whats the path that SAB shows if you go to details in history?
Are SAB and sonarr (drone) are on the same machine?
Do you have a post processing script enabled for the category in SAB?
I’ll probably have some more questions after these, but it will get us started.
Thanks for helping me out, here are the answers to your questions!
Yes D:\Downloads - Is my “Completed Download” folder in SAB
I don’t really use series folders I would prefer that all episodes (from all shows) download to the D:\Downloads folder. However currently I have “D:\Downloads\Modern Family” set as my path for Modern Family
In SAB the path for Modern Family under the History tab is “D:\Downloads\Modern.Family.S06E05.720p.HDTV.x264-KILLERS”
Yes both SAB and Drone are on my desktop PC
I don’t believe I have any scripts enabled on any of my category’s (like I explained I use SAB fairly simply; to download files into one folder)
Thanks for the help again and if you need any screenshots or any other information, just ask!
