Description of issue: i get a message when i first open the sonarr that the download client isn’t available … but then it starts without any action on my part. i make sure sabnzbd is opened before i launch sonarr, and when i go to settings the api information is accurate and the download test has never failed.

one thing i forgot to mention: the sonarr os x client in my applications folder has never been clickable, and for all intents and purposes, is not running.

****last night sonarr stopped initiating automatic downloads, and required that i go to the episode page and click on the arrows in order to start a download.

i’m at a loss to understand why any of this is happening. i am also very confused as to what action(s) could trigger these problems.

the log you posted contains several sabnzbd api queries, all successful.

As for sonarr not automatically downloading, you’ll have to find a specific case and search for it in the log files to determine why sonarr rejected that particular release.

I happened on the solution totally by accident. Sonarr worked perfectly after

  1. making it a login item, and
  2. killing the login/pw of SABnzbd.

Since Sonarr is running under linux, it starts up when i boot the box. SABnzbd is running under mac os x 10.12.6. and the lag between it starting up a few minutes later than Sonarr was the crux of the issue. I considered scripting, but I didn’t think using a jackhammer to pound in a thumb tack was necessary. My gut feeling was that it was a very minor issue.

With regard to your suggestion “you’ll have to find a specific case and search for it.” The message back was always “Download client not available.” It just took a few days to realize precisely what Sonarr was telling me.

Thank you for your input, your response is what set me down the correct path. I’m very glad that I joined this forum. Thank you.
