Made a move from Sickbeard & Sabnzbd after using that combo for a few years.
Now with Sonarr and nzbget.
So… the one thing I have really noticed is the amount of time it spends refreshing the disk. I run unraid and have a reasonable amount of data. Sonarr seems to be spending a lot of time scanning each series on the disk.
Is there an option to change the frequency here? I see no reason why it should be scanning every 12 hours.
I won’t be making changes generally to the data outside of sonarr so I wouldnt care if it only refreshed once a week to be honest.
A config option for this would be great, I did look but couldn’t spot one.
At the moment it keeps the disks from sleeping for no real reason that I can see.
I also forgot to mention - love sonarr… It is hard moving from software you have been with for ages. I liked sickbeard it did the job and still does but the lack of handling of failures of downloading is a big thing… and it seems outdated after using sonarr for a while…
No its not customizable and at this time we have no plans to make it customizable, but after the first scan it is much faster (since it doesn’t need to process the other files again).
The refresh also includes updating series information, which for currently airing shows is important to keep up to date.
I had the same issue, but I found that going to Settings -> Show Advanced Settings -> Media Management -> Analyze Video Files, and disabling it, fixed my issue, I assume i have one or two files that caused it to break, but the logs don’t tell me which ones so I can’t get any more analysis done on it.
Anyway, try disabling “Analyze Video Files”, I restarted afterwards, and see if that helps.
