Detecting h264 > h265 converted media

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.5338
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 5.20.1.34
OS: Linux - Unraid Docker
Debug logs:
Description of issue: I have converted some of my media from h264 to h265/hevc. When rescanning disk, Sonarr is not picking up the new file and size. I also have a renamer to put the video codec in the file name so all my media ends with either h264 or h265. When I preview rename it also isn’t seeing that the files are now smaller and using h265 video codec. I’m not sure how to force it to see the new files. Logs show it ran the scan and found no changes for that series.

I had to totally remove the series and re-add it for it to detect the files properly and then allow me to rename.

If the filename doesn’t change then Sonarr won’t reprocess the file. A small file name after conversion would be the best bet.

Thanks for the clarification. I’m using Tdarr and the whole purpose is to put the file back how it found it, not sure how to tell it to put it back with a different name. Perhaps a feature enhancement to allow Sonarr to force scan to look for changes to existing files? Part of the manual library management features?
