Detected Quality Issue

Version: 2.0.0.4748
OS: Server 2012R2

Problem:

My sonarr just auto-updated to the newest version, and am now noticing an odd error. All new imported Episodes (doesn’t matter what show it is) the quality always comes up as “Unknown” I have not changed any of my settings what so ever. I have verified that the episodes being added are HDTV 720P, but as mentioned, Sonarr sees them as “unknown”.

Are there new settings imposed in the new version I need to tweak? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

The Monk episode 7x12 is 720p, but the logs shows as Unknown. As mentioned, the only thing that changed as the auto update.

Thanks

Just to add to this, I did test with freshly downloaded episodes, and verifying they are the right quality. Sonarr still rates the episode as “unknown” even though I know for a fact it was 720P.

Hoping for some guidance from this kick ass community

There’s nothing in the filename that tells sonarr which source+res it is.

Thanks for the reply.

Up until today’s update, every file I have ever placed was always just S00xE00 Format… I never had HD or anything else in the filenames and sonarr always detected everything correctly.

Literally in my collection of over 50TB of TV shows, today is the first day that Sonarr is labeling things as unknown. I’m sure there was some change made under the hood, or maybe a setting that I need to tweak to bring back the “old” functionality. It’s not fee sable for me to re-name god only knows how many files just to reflect HDTV or not. I thought sonarr also used the container to determine the quality of the file. Like if it was .mkv for example, may assume HDTV.

Thanks for your reply

Your filename changes from mp4 to mkv. Sonarr had the mp4 associated with the original quality from the original import. It can not make assumptions about the mkv.

About it not using the extension, you’re right, that’s a regression.

Thanks for the reply…

If you are saying that is a regression, is there a proper way for me to report this to Sonarr Developers so they may correct this behavior?

I am one of the Sonarr developers. And it’s already fixed. Just waiting for the build server to run all the tests and push out a release.

Release 2.0.0.4753 is published.

Thank you! That fixed the problem
Man that was fast!!! You are awesome

I am running 2.0.0.4753 and just started having this exact problem yesterday.
