Confused noob on sonarr download & hardlink locations

Sonarr version (exact version): 3.0.3.664
OS: Windows 10
Description of issue: Hi, I’m having trouble setting up sonarr to behave how I want it. I’d like to know if it’s even possible or if I am just missing something… I might just be overcomplicating things

The way I want sonarr to work is like this:

  1. New episodes are downloaded to E:\Downloads\TV{Series Name}.{Season.Quality} and left alone for long term seeding. (I understand that sonarr uses qBittorrent’s download location, is there any way to change this? The download location for qBittorrent is simply E:\Downloads, I don’t want files sonarr is downloading going there, I want it to be more specific than where general downloads go…)

  2. A hardlink is created with a nice naming scheme at E:\TV{Series Name}{Season}{Episode & Title (this would be the hardlink / “renamed” file)

I’m not clear on how the renaming files & creating hardlinks if the files are seeding all works exactly… I don’t see a setting on where to move episodes once they’ve been downloaded. I don’t want to rename the downloads or move them because they’re seeding, and I don’t see a place for the hardlinks to go, just the seeding files folder location when I add a series.

tldr: I have some episodes in a season folder, inside a downloads folder, seeding, but I don’t know how to get sonarr to take those seeding files & create hardlinks with the correct naming schema in another location

Hopefully this makes sense, Thank you for any help in my noob questions

Sonarr doesn’t support that, so it’d have to be something on the qbit side.

This will happen if Sonarr is tracking the download and there is a video file to import. Check Activity: Queue for the download and see why it’s not importing, if it’s not there make sure it’s still in Qbit’s queue and it has the correct label/category.
