Confused About Delay Profiles

Hello,
I am a little confused about Delay Profiles.

For example,

A. I set RSS Sync Interval to 15 min

B. Prefer Usenet (Delay Profile):
Usenet delay 100 Min
Torrent Delay 200 min

C. Prefer Torrent (Delay Profile):
Usenet delay 100 Min
Torrent Delay 200 min

  1. I assume that both delay Profiles (B & C) would work in the same way?
  2. Assuming that the “first RSS Sync” occurs at 12:00 PM, at what times would the Torrents be searched, and at what times would Usenet be searched?

There is no searching.

If the first search was at 12pm and it found one usenet and one torrent release that were released at 11:50am, they would both get added to Sonarr’s queue and would be attempted when they are 100 and 200 minutes old respectively (1:30pm and 3:10pm).

What I am really after is trying to understand when API calls are being made (relevant for the nzb indexers)

  1. “There is no searching” + “If the first search was at 12pm”? Maybe you implied that there is RSS synchronizing instead (at 12 PM) ? Thus, there was an API call at 12 PM?

  2. Was my assumption above correct; that both delay Profiles (B & C) would work in the same way?

  3. So let me see if I understand: Even though the file was “found” at 12 PM, it would be downloaded only at 1:30 PM and only via Usenet (Torrent would be cancelled because it downloads from Usenet earlier)?

  4. There would still be another API call at 12:15 even though the file was already found?

  5. There is only one API call every 15 min, even though several TV-shows are synced at the same time?

  1. Yes, meant RSS sync, not search

  2. Yes, you’d end up with NZBs in both cases because of the shorter delay. If you ran a search torrents would be preferred for series attached to the second profile ©

  3. Correct

  4. Yes.

  5. 1 API call per indexer, unless there are more than 100 new results which would cause Sonarr to page back, but thats rare with a 15 minute interval and 100 results per page.

2 Above again.
a. So the two profiles would be identical for RSS Sync, but not for searches, where “Prefer Usenet” would always favor NZBs and “Prefer Torrents” would always favor Torrents, regardless of the delays?

b. With the RSS Sync, where NZBs would be used in both cases, would there still be a delay of 100 min before the download in both cases ?

c. With Searches, using “Prefer Torrents”, would there be a delay of 200 min before download?

p.s. Thank you for always answer my posts so promptly, and thanks for a great program!

a. Correct

b. Yes (unless the quality is the most wanted quality in the profile for the preferred protocol), for the default HD 720p that would be Blurary 720p (if thats available on usenet for the usenet preferred one it would be grabbed immediately and the same for a torrent and the torrent preferred delay profile).

c. No, delays don’t apply to searches.
