Configuring indexers using API or RSS?

Sonarr version (exact version): Latest version
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
OS: WIndows 10 Professional
((Debug logs)): I will turn them on when I get home
(Make sure debug logging is enabled in settings and post the full log to hastebin/pastebin/dropbox/google drive or something similar, do not post them directly here)
Description of issue: Can anyone direct me on what I need to enter for the API or RSS when testing connections to other indexers? Right now the only indexer I have set up is Usenet-Crawler, and Sonarr is not grabbing any of my shows. I finally figured out that’s because they aren’t available on UC before I wind up downloading them manually from Newztown or GingaDaddy. As of late, Newztown has been getting shows late, too, leaving only GingaDaddy to have shows reliably, however, it looks like NZBnoob is getting NZBs just as quickly.

I’m still learning this API and RSS thing. Can anyone direct me on what I need to enter for the API or RSS when testing connections to Ginga or Noob? There are a lot of options on both support pages as to what to enter, but when hitting the test button they don’t connect.

Another solution I suppose would be to see if anyone has an invite to one of the preset indexers on Sonarr.

You need to enter the API host, which is usually https://api.site.url or https://site.url depending whether they have a separate subdomain for the API or not.

IIRC GingaDaddy does not work with Sonarr (something they blocked/broke on their end).

Newztown’s URL should be https://newztown.co.za

Thanks. GingaDaddy says they work when you do http://www.gingadaddy.com/api.php. I will try that when I get home. As for Newztown, it works, but like U-C, it can be days before they get a working nzb up there. My problem may be solved with the GD api link, but we will see. Thanks for your help.

Oh, one other question you may or may not know the answer to: how do I know which API to use for just grabbing shows? For instance, when I generate an RSS key for GD, I get the following: https://www.gingadaddy.com/rss.php?feed=dl&cat=66&passkey=[passkey]&uid=44239. Is that what I put in the API field of Sonarr after the /api.php link?

In that case the URL will be http://www.gingadaddy.com and the API Path (and advanced setting) will be /api.php.

Sonarr uses the API, you don’t add a specific RSS feed to Sonarr.
