Can not start Sonarr after reinstall: The DataMapper was unable to load the following field

Description of issue: Can not start Sonarr after reinstall

I can’t post any logs since I can’t start sonarr… When I run Sonarr web interface, I get this error on a blank screen:

It worked fine, I did a reinstall and suddenly it stops working…

What I just tried: I deleted the .config folder in @appdata/nzbdrone
Then reinstalled Sonarr and it started up again

Then I tried to restore a backup and suddenly got the same error again

The SynoCommunity Sonarr package is extremely out of data and not compatible with current versions of Sonarr. Thus when reinstalled without manually purging app data - Sonarr breaks.

You need to manually remove your appdata since I don’t believe the SynoComm uninstall does so. Then run sonarr and it’ll update without issue.

There is no timeframe as to when SynoCommunity may finally update their year old - always out of date; poorly maintained package.

If your NAS supports docker it’s strongly suggested to switch

thanks for your reply, it’s a shame that it’s bricked like that. I’ll use docker instead. Are there any disadvantages by using docker instead directly from package center?

No - docker is superior to the shorty poorly maintained nas packages

Just avoid every YouTube video that gives poor setups and LSIO’s poor path suggestions

Unless you like slow imports, double space for all torrents, easy permissions issues, and easy import issues all with inconsistent paths.
