I was wondering if it was possible to implent a back and forward button? So when you have for example: NCIS, NCIS LA, NCIS New Orleans. That when ur editing NCIS LA that you can go to NCIS with the back button and NCIS New Orleans with the forward?
Yes you can search for the show aswell but sometimes you need to change something on every show and with a few shows its no big deal but with over 500 shows its kinda annoying to go to the home page and then scroll the down to find the show thats next in line.
For example you can filter monitored/continuing/ended shows but it doesnāt show if the latest season is still airing episodes or not. So I can unmonitor all except the latest season for continuing shows but then I will still need to go check each show to check the latest season if the show is on a break cause end of season or that there are still episodes airing.
Just something i would prefer too see to make going manual through all ur tv shows easier
I would put them at the top, just below the search bar.
@markus101 Another use case - I just browse thru my shows seeing how many seasons there are, and where in the season we are. Thatās easier to do on a show by show basis, I think, that from an over view.
Also, I canāt see this as being a difficult feature to implement, and even put as an optional toggle. I also donāt see it as being high priority.
There is a lot more that goes into a feature than how long it takes to actually code it. Something like this may take 20min to 1 hour to actually code but figuring out how it fits in the UI and how to make it intuitive and not confused the user is the hardest part.
I honestly donāt see this happening, and the reason is that it pretty much becomes useless once you have more than a handful of shows. There is no point clicking next 50,100,200 times to go through your shows alphabetically when you can search/use the list/calendar/missing views.
I completely disagree. I have somewhere near 70 shows, and Iād use this nearly every day. I think it just depends on how you work in Drone. And for the way I do things the search bar takes longer than just clicking next for certain things.
Granted, if Iām going from Bones to Sleepy Hollow, Iāll use search. But if Iām flipping thru things I may do either.
As to fitting it in the UI, the only hard part of that, to me, is designing the buttons to look correct if they donāt already exist.
Attached youāll see a horribly drawn mock up of where I think they should go. I think buttons right there w/o labels will be fairly intuitive as PREV/NEXT. Labels could even be added as well as tool tips.
Just found a perfect(?) example of the next/back buttons usage/need.
Iām going thru and there is currently no way on the torrents branch to mass edit tags. So I have to do it one by one. Would be easier to hit nxt/back as needed rather than trying to remember the names of all my shows.
Sidenote - make the tags editable on the mass edit series page.
At the moment I am migrating from sickbeard. I have to manually go through each show one by one both in file explorer, sickbeard and sonarr to confirm everything matches OK. It would save me a LOT of time to be able to just jump backwards and forwards in sonarr. Personally Iād put them as floating arrow buttons in the middle of the page on the left and right sides of the page (the same as the back to top arrow).
Example - please excuse the crappy copy pasta. They would look better with the same transparency as the go to top button.
For maintenance I see this as the only easy way when checking your 2~1000 series. I find myself now going back and forth the Season Pass page, clicking to the next series to check whatās going on (with the specials).
I imported all my series and now I have to manually go through every series to adjust the monitor for the specials.
I also have to manually unmonitor the last season of each completed series. I have to check if it is indeed completed because some arenāt.
Sometimes I find it necessary to browse through my series. I just like to see with my own eyes what the status is for the series. Maybe I like to see what qualities I posses for each episode. Maybe I like to review the specials, which one is still missing, do I still want it?
Iām know there are other ways to filter and select what I want to achieve. The Season Pass is a great way to get a bird view of the situation. But that is not the request. The request is a way to brows through my series, one by one so I see the details. Currently I can only do this by going back to the overview page and select the next series from the list.
Scrolling through shows one by one seems like a weird thing to do to me, so it feels like bloat, adding the buttons for the sake of having them.
To your previous point about mass-adding tags, to me that sounds like we need a mass tag editor/have it part of series editor, going through each series one by one feels totally wrong there.
Having to scroll through to compare the files Sonarr detected to the files on disk also seems awkward at best, which would much better be solved with something like:
and a way to push that alert up in the UI to other views (series list, etc).
We donāt want to add it just for the sake of adding it and we havenāt really seen a compelling reason for adding it, dealing with specials has been the most compelling, but it makes me wonder if weāre missing something.
I think this is something that is just a different form of navigation that many ppl are used to, so I wouldnāt call it bloat, per se. It may not be 100% necessary tho.
And, as always with my thoughts & suggestions, Iām not demanding, just throwing my thoughts out there.
I just canāt see how giving ppl another easy way to navigate is a problem.
On top of that, I think it is a wrong argument that āyou donāt see the pointā. Everyone has itās own way of doing things. Just because I donāt use every single feature in Sonarr, doesnāt make them an unnecessary feature, or a bloat.
Iām with @tymanthius, I really donāt see why this is such a mayor request. Is it really that awkward to browse through your series? Am I really doing something that I am not suppose to do with Sonarr? Checking on my series and maintaining my library?
With that said, I will stop my contribution to this request. Iām not a developer for this project, only a user. And I will respect the choice of the developers.
