Automation, Drone or Get script (videosort)?

Hi everyone,

So I had been using NZBdrone and SAb for a long time but decided to try NZBget since I have it all running on a HP N54L.

It seemed to be working fine but lately it seems that it doesn’t like the downloads and will download a show multiple times even though it successfully extracts it (possible because the names are hashed?). My question is basically should I be using Drone to try and sort/move/rename everything or would the NZBGet script videosort be better?

You want drone to sort/move/rename or it will not know the file has been successfully downloaded until after it rescanned the series folder.

Make sure you have completed download handling in drone enabled and also check your quality profile, drone will download upgrades if the cutoff hasn’t been met or if a proper is released (a fix for a bad release), but won’t re-download if it hasn’t imported a file or the hashed release fails to import.

Hi Markus,

I’ve RTFM  and believe I have it all setup as per best practices and have my quality profiles etc all down pat. As I said it was working with SAB but seems a bit off with Get.

I’m not using drone factory but instead using the categories and folder inside the download client config area (if that makes sense).

I will leave it as it is then and try to figure out whats happening and worst case I will switch back to sab.

Thanks,

Which folder? Sounds like CDH, but it’s not clear to me if it is.

Does drone’s history show the same episode being grabbed multiple times?

Use the nzbtoMedia scripts, specifically, nzbtodrone:

I’m currently using drone but have used those scripts in the past with SB & SickRage… all work fine.

You definitely don’t want to use that, CDH in drone is better, itensures things aren’t moved too soon (drone factory) and keeps track of everything properly within drone.

@markus101 - If you were replying to my post

Seems to be ok on my system. It lets drone know a download is complete and drone handles it from there… then reports back to nzbget.

Edit - Markus… nevermind, I just tested this… Very nice CDH!

The folder is inside the download client config area, the heading next to it is called “Category Local Path”.

So for example I’m trying to download an episode of the strain and it is working but look at the log below.

 awesome, didn’t mean to sound rude before, I thought this script did the moving, but I was wrong, thanks for setting me straight.

Are drone and nzbget on different machines? If not, this should not be set.

The script failed, likely drone is treating it as failed, you can check what drone sees on History → Queue (inside of drone).

Hmm that’s odd. I could have sworn I followed documentation on the wiki/github that specifically said this was a better way of having things process than drone factory. I can change this if that’s what you suggest as CP/Drone/Get are all on the same server.

Having a closer look it seems that get may be the issue as it has downloaded a show correctly twice but still says it has failed.

Yes, CDH is, but Category Local Path is not required unless SAB/get is running on a remote machine. drone will get the path from SAB/get and import it as long as it can access it (if its on the same PC it will be able to).

forgive my ignorance but what is CDH?

Edit: went and found out myself =)
