Application will not load after updating

Hey there,

So I have another strange problem that popped up.

I install Sonarr on OSX. All seems fine. It installs the master of 2.0.0.2722. I have it set up to install the develop branch, so when I click to install 2.0.0.2730, it doesn’t seem to work, and then the Sonarr app is broken. I can no longer run it. I get a message saying that it can’t load, and the only way to fix it is by reinstalling .2722.

Markus, would the log files help you see what is happening here?

Thanx
Jon

Oh, maybe I’m seeing the same issue as this…

Jon

Do the logs show the same error?

The installation completes cleanly, it looks like. But if I stop Sonarr, and then re-run it, it’s dead. Need to re-install it to get it to work again.

Jon

What do the logs show when its “dead”? Sonarr restarts as part of the update process, if thats not happening (same issue as you had before), that should be fixed.

As of right now I have no idea in what way its failing, logs would be helpful and in the case of issues are pretty much required.

Ok, lemme do it again. Specifically which logs would you like? The update logs?

Jon

That will help, but the app logs will show why its not starting.

Update log: http://pastebin.com/Gg1a7HpB

Other log: http://pastebin.com/ruJXcbFz

Ok, now I’m shutting down Sonarr. Now re-starting. I get "The application “Sonar.app” can’t be opened.

Jon

Everything looks normal in the logs, update process starts, calls update app, update app backs up then updates the contents, update app starts Sonarr and the logs then show Sonarr starting up properly.

Unless its some sort of permissions issue, I don’t see there being any issue, but nothing is in the logs.

This same issue is happening to me as well. If I reboot my MacMini for any reason Sonarr will not reopen (Application Sonarr can’t be opened) unless I DL a new version and replace the app in /Applications.

What do the logs show in this case?
