Anime Batch Not Prioritized

Sonarr version: 2.0.0.4472
Mono version: 4.04
OS: Mac OS Sierra 10.12.2

Description of issue:

Series Name: Yowamushi Pedal

Hello,

I am noticing that the “Batch” release for Season 2 is not being picked up when I do a search for monitored episodes in season 2 in Sonarr. Upon looking at the manual search to see the results picked up from the indexer (Nyaa) - I noticed that the result set brought back is the individual episode and the batch for the entire season.

Does it not prioritize to pickup the season when you are doing an automatic search vs the individual episode? I have the series type set to anime as well.

It should, you’d need to check the ((debug logs)) to see if it was processed and why it was rejected. If it wasn’t processed it’s because your indexer didn’t return it.

No actually it wasn’t rejected, if you see the attached screenshot it marks the individual and batch as okay to download. However, it chooses to send the individual one to the torrent client instead of the batch.

I was under the assumption that Sonarr does the following prioritization: 1) Batch 2) Individual (according to the Profile set for quality cutoff).

Any ideas?

Debug logs of the season search, that’s from a manual search which won’t prioritize batch releases because they aren’t for the specific episode only.

Hi Markus,

Debug logs attached - you’ll have to ignore line references to movies as they were in my torrent client seeding so Sonarr seemed to want to parse them every time it did an API call to the rss feed indexer…

It seems to take quite a long time to search for each episode each time it reaches out to the indexer for results. Let me know if this helps or if you need a trace.

Doing an automatic season search resulted in every individual episode being sent to the torrent client - not the expected result.

Debug Logs

For the same series Sonarr is also failing to do a season search on specials

Do you already have some of the episodes in the batch?
I don’t the batch release being processed in those results though, if it’s’t not there or in another file Sonarr couldn’t grab it.

Anime season searches rely on individual searches since there isn’t a season number to search for so each episode is processed individually and with non-season packs (batch releases aren’t classified as season packs) Sonarr prefers less episodes in the release. I’ve made a change that’ll be in a future release that will prefer batch releases for anime over single episode releases.

They need an absolute episode number or searching will be rejected fuzzy searching based on the title is not supported (an unreliable in most cases).

Hi Markus,

No I didn’t have any of the episodes from the batch downloaded or stored locally. That’s awesome, looking forward to that item in the changelog!

I would agree with you for the fuzzy logic matching… too bad that the releases are done with name only… I will have to do those manually and use Filebot to assign the S00E00/Absolute Number for Sonarr to pick up.

Thank you for the help!
