Adding torrents from private trackers + keep seeding but Sonarr update the database?

Hi,
OK, I will try to explain what I mean and want to achieve:

TV Shows located:
X:\TV
->Series name
-> Season folder or just downloaded here

I use a private tracker and I can configure utorrent for their RSS feed, everything works like a charm. The problem is, that I can’t use this with Sonarr, since the indexer is not supported (yet).
What would be the best method to use the tracker but keep seeding as well?

  1. I use utorrent to download the torrents to the Sonarr watchfolder. This works, but the downloaded show must remain there for seeding. Therefore Sonarr copies the torrent to my default TV show folder and leaves the downloaded in the watchfolder. But this makes 2x the space on hard drive. Maybe I should use hardlink for this and then it would not need 2x space, but the one that is moved to my tv folder is pointing to the place where it is still seeded? How does this work actually?

  2. same as above, but Sonarr moves the downloaded file to my tv folder, but then I loose seeding and will be kicked from the tracker.

  3. I set download location in utorrent to my tv folder and Sonarr will just update the database with the downloaded torrents automatically? This version seams the most reasonable for me. Question: how will Sonarr know that there is a new file downloaded into the default tv folder? Update Library, I guess, but is that automated or has to be run manually?

Many thanks!

As long as the RSS feed puts the download in the correct category/label Sonarr will see it and attempt to import it, use hardlinking to achieve this (as long as its on the same drive/volume) and it will only use the disk space once. I won’t go into details on how hardlinking works as there are likely plenty of better info found via google.

Thks. But the problem is that hard links are not working for some reason. I opened a thread for this, could you help me troubleshoot?
