Adding DV.HDR or HDR but not DV

Description of issue:

Hello there,

I was making may way through trash guides but i felt i was missing something.

I, maybe like many other people have a mix of TV’s of various ages. Some support DV, some HDR 10, some HDR etc all based on their age.

I use Emby to play back media files.

I try and not download a “DV” file as the tone mapping despite plex or emby doing its thing is off and some TV’s refuse to play the files at all. So to make it fairly seemless I always try and download the DV.HDR version of a file.

If that is not available i fall back on HDR and if that is not available then just the 2160p is good enough.

I added the following to a release profile “Must not contain”
/DV ^|^(?=.\b(DV|dovi|Dolby[-_. ]?Vision)\b)(?!.\b(HDR(10(P(lus)?)?)?|HULU|BluRay)\b)/i

and …well, i possibly have mixed results. It certainly does add DV.HDR files and HDR or just 2160p but i am not sure its looking for DV.HDR as a preference or working perfectly.

So i figured i’d ask for advice.

What’s the go to method when you want DV.HDR and HDR but not DV on its own for you 2160 content?

Thanks for any help.

Actually maybe I’m thinking about thing wrong.

OK I don’t want dv files but maybe a better way is to use priority so give dv.hdr priority over hdr and 2160

For preferring things you’ll want to use Custom Formats.

Trash’s guides has a section for HDR: Collection of Custom Formats - TRaSH Guides
