Adapt to Streaming reality

Now that lots of shows are published in streaming (Netflix, PrimeVideo, Disney…), we could “adapt” Sonarr to understand that we DO NOT always have the need to download files.

Today monitoring status are:
Unmonitored: Just grab Metadata, Don’t Download, Do not Show on Calendar
Monitored: Shows on Wanted, Shows on Calendar, Scan Files, and Try to Download

But what If, for some shows, I don’t have any intention of downloading? There are lots of shows that I need Sonarr exclusively to follow new episodes, airing dates, fetch/read metadata…

Would it be possible to make Monitoring be:
Unmonitored: Just grab Metadata, Don’t Download, Do not Show on Calendar
Monitored: Grab Metadata, Shows on Wanted, Shows on Calendar, Scan Files, and Try to Download
Follow only: Grab Metadata, Shows on Calendar, Never scans files or tries to download

What the issue today is:
The shows I follow on my streamings appear as “Wanted” and are scanned and expected to be download (from Sonarr point-of-view).

PLUS: maybe some kind of “watched” flag (like Plex or Emby has) would also help, because sometimes I only want to see which episodes of which shows I still have to watch on my backlog, be it in my MediaServer or my Streamings.

Try Trakt perhaps?

https://trakt.tv/

Never tried it, but would the free tier be acceptable to use? How does the integration with Sonarr works?

Today, seeing the “Upcoming” inside Sonarr is very convenient.

Also… in Sonarr i can publish iCal’s and connect it to my Google Agenda, without having to pay subscription to Trakt.
