2 shows, exactly the same

Hi, I have seen a problem with Sonarr. It grabbed a show, but then 8 hours later grabbed the same show, same quality, same title, same size.

SHOW.NAME.S1E10.720p.HDTV
SHOW.NAME.S1E10.720p.HDTV.1

That is how it looks. Both exact same size.

I looked at my cut off but that is set proper too.

I have in profiles, every one of them ticked (except unknown) with cut off being HDTV-720p. I assume this to mean if SDTV, WEBDL-480p or DVD is DL’d then it would be replaced with a higher quality but if HDTV-720p or higher is grabbed it will stop… but clearly that isn’t happening.

Is this a bug with sonarr or where have I made an error?

I am pretty new at Sonarr, but I thought I had it set up correctly.

This is in the exact same folder

Just to edit - this is usenet only

What does the episode history say? Click on the episode name, then History. Should show all events.

As you can see, the top image, there are 3 x S2E2 of this show, and the second image you can see the history of S2E2. I understand why maybe 1 SDTV and 1 HDTV would be downloaded given I want cut off at 720p but to have 2 SDTV and 4 720p is confusing.

Only one SDTV was grabbed, the other is an import event (different icon).

Looks like there was a problem importing the 4 HDTV grabs so Sonarr treated it similar to a failure after 12 hours, if you don’t want Sonarr to import files, disable Completed Download Handling, otherwise you will need to look at your logs to see why it failed to import the files.

SO if I disable the CDH, that will solve the issue of multiple downloads of the same file as per image 1?

I’d rather after the 720p file downloads, that it won’t monitor that anymore and no more will be downloaded

I see no error apart from one, which was the original one, but the other 3 downloaded as you can see from image 1

To me it looks like Sonarr can’t see the download client queue. Are you sure the category is properly configured?
What does sabnzbd/nzbget history say? Do you have another (old) pp-script configured?

This is the classic “lost track of” scenario.

I use Sab, and the history shows several downloads of the same item.

On a possible related issue, although might not be. I looked at settings and health in Sonarr, and seen 1 error. “Missing root folder: Z:\Downloads” - now, I have my NAS mapped as my Z drive, and on my headless machine (which sonarr is on) I have it mapped as my Z drive, so no idea why this is happening now. I can see the drive on the headless, and sab can see it, but why can’t sonarr? I have no idea how to fix that.

Could THAT be the reason for the multi downloads?

I read the FAQ too by the way and it says I can fix that by changing the UNC paths but I have no idea how to do that in Sonarr

EDIT: Fixed the path situation. I followed this guide Importing existing shows on Windows network drive

However, will that solve the double/treble downloads? Let’s see… Thanks

Fairly easy to test. Just grab a download, and check Activity->Queue to see if it’s shown. (Queue updates every minute, so it will not appear immediately)
