XBMC not adding shows to library which are added by NZB Drone?

Hey everyone. Hoping for some help, mysetup:

  • PC server running NZBDrone and SABnzbd (Windows 7)
  • NZBDrone set to pull XBMC metadata & images to series folders (working)
  • NZBDrone set to notify XBMC on update (verified working)
  • Android (4.2 Mygica brand) based TV box running XBMC Gotham 13.1
  • XBMC box monitoring SMB share on PC Server
  • XBMC setting to monitor that share as TV content, update with LOCAL content only

When I add a new show with NZBDrone into the TV directory, XBMC doesn’t automatically add it to the TV library nor seem to recognize any of the metadata.

I used to run Sickbeard and it was never an issue. But now, I have to go into my Video file browser, select the show, and highlight the content and set it to scan the TVDB online to get it imported into my library.

Example: last night I added Law and Order SVU. I was watching my box downstairs and saw the updates coming in from NZBDrone.

All was good, but the show never indexed into the library. I had to go into Video file browser, find the folder (which just showed as a blue folder with no art), and forced it to rescan. It did, and STILL it didn’t add to the library.

It wasn’t until I set it to scrape data from online TVDB did it work.

Now, my Android box has a limited amount of storage, so I REALLY want to use my PC share to store the show images and metadata. I can’t see anything wrong in my settings.

I switched to NZBDrone about a month ago and don’t want to go back to sickbeard. But I want to make sure I can store show info on the server.

Anyone have any insight into what’s going on and how I can fix?

Thanks in advance.

Please add a screenshot of XBMC metadata settings and one of XBMC notification settings (the whole modal), you can clear out the username and address of it. Debug logs from drone that show the import of an episode (and subsequent notifications being sent).

If you tell XBMC to scan your entire library does the series appear or does it only ever appear if you forcibly scan it in?

XBMC maybe be unable to process the metadata drone is creating (for some reason), if thats the case it should be logging that.

I had a similar issue a while ago, but it ended up being the metadata. Markus added the new data by default however and it’s been fine since so perhaps it’s a different issue, but just in case: http://forums.nzbdrone.com/t/something-weird-with-newly-added-shows-and-xbmc/872
