World Wide Publishing Service

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.3953
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
OS: windows 10 64 bit
((Debug logs)) (posted to hastebin or similar):
Description of issue (if you think you’ve found a bug please include steps to reproduce):

So i am running into a weird issue.

PC reboots, sonarr starts up uses the world wide publishing service. To host the app i presume. Which starts on port 80.

I use nginx for reverse proxy etc. That also runs on port 80 but fails because the world wide publishing service is using port 80.

Now i can go ahead and turn off the service but then i cannot restart sonarr. It works fine but if it drops or needs a reboot (sonarr only). I wont be able to start it unless this group of services is running. But it functions fine without it.

I tried binding http to the ipv6

netsh http add iplisten ipaddress=::

But again if the whole machine is reboot the the world wide publishing services starts up because sonarr asks it nginx will fail.

But if i disable the world wide publishing service, sonarr will not start up.

Does it need this services?

Sonarr has its own web server and does not use World Wide Publishing Service, which is part of Internet Information Services (IIS).

HTTP Service (http.sys I believe) is required by Sonarr, as that is how the it registers which address and port it listens to, by stopping HTTP Service you’re stopping multiple other services. What you want to stop/disable is W3SVC or better yet uninstall IIS if your not using it or change the default website it created when it was installed to another port.

Windows 10 (W3SVC) is World wide web publishing service.

I disabled it and restarted windows, seems to be working after that. Needed a reboot first otherwise sonarr didn’t like it. Through out and error when restarting the service.

Thanks
