Why would Sonarr download an episode it knows hasn't aired yet?

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.5163
OS: win10
Description of issue:
I noticed this evening that Sonarr had downloaded episode 2 of season 14 of The Next Food Network Star. Problem is, that episode doesn’t air for another week and a half. Sonarr even shows that it won’t air for 12 days.

The file it downloaded is labeled as being the right episode but it’s really not. Someone uploaded something with a bad name. However, since Sonarr knows the episode doesn’t air for 12 days, why would it download it? I would think there would be some logic that says if the episode doesn’t air for more than a day or tow, to skip anything that looks like it’s the right file. Is there any way to have it do that?

Thanks.

Crap uploaders putting crap online, it happens every now and then… :slightly_frowning_face:

There’s an open github item that would fix this if the devs find the time, but I think it’s not that high on the priority list: https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/issues/969

Thanks. I gave that github post a Thumbs Up and added a comment.

Fair point but episodes sometimes show up online before they air. Fakes could cause the issue with public sites so not searching for episodes that have not yet aired might be helpful for that. On the other hand fakes aren’t an issue for private sites and they are more likely to have leaks before the air date so you would likely want it ignore the air date. It looks like they may make it a configurable option though, so that would be good.
