Shouldn’t it be able to tell from the TVDB or whatever?
The type is how it’s released. You can have a series released using dates that is released daily or weekly, if it’s weekly there isn’t a great way to differentiate between one that releases using dates vs a standard format.
Similar for anime vs standard, the presence of absolute episode numbers exists for series of all types.
We used to have a list of series that were daily and have discussed ways to detect it, but it’s not something we have any current plans to implement.
Sickrage has the same issue with Anime but I think it knows about daily vs weekly. Does Sickrage detect this automatically or does it have a curated list?
