When I’m adding an episode there are several options for the MONITOR selection.
ALL - Monitor all episodes, except specials
Future - Monitor episodes that have not aired yet
Missing - Monitor that do not have files or not yet aired
Existing - Monitor that HAVE files or not yet aired
First Season - Monitor all of first season. Others will be ignored.
Latest Season - Monitor all of latest season and future seasons
None - No monitor
Ok, here’s the million dollar question. When I add a TV show I want Sonarr to try and search for ALL episodes it does not have from the first season and keep trying to search for those on a regular basis. Is my best selection here to set this option to ALL or MISSING? The problem right now is my wanted queue is huge. I have 384 pages (5,750) records wanted right now and I don’t want to keep such a large wanted queue. How would I eliminate or parse the wanted queue without taking away the option to monitor all my episodes or that’s a direct conflict? Is Sonaar actually checking for all those in my wanted queue? Hard to tell because I did click on a couple of them and searched automatically and it found the episodes. Please help, I don’t want my wanted queue to get too big but I also want the best option for automation. I remember you always had to perform a search yourself with missing episodes, I assume that option has been included with the “missing” option? Sorry for all the questions, I hope you get the real story here. Thanks!
EDIT: I also have a TV show called NOVA, which has over 40 seasons and I only have the last 2 or 3 seasons. I will never be able to get the older seasons so the few hundred episodes are in my WANTED queue. How can I edit this episode to monitor just the upcoming episodes but not keep monitoring all the older ones? When I went to edit the episode the option I saw was MONITOR OFF OR ON. No option to select, like missing, or latest. This is also why my wanted queue is so large. Episodes I know I will never get I don’t want monitored.
