My setup: I’m running the latest version of Sonarr on Windows 7. Indexer: BTN. Download Client: Utorrent 3.1.3. Torrents are saved in T:\Torrents, then Sonarr automatically hardlinks and renames the TV show, and organizes them in T:\TV\Whatever folder so i can continue seeding.
After adding a new TV series to Sonarr, I usually do a manual search (in Sonarr) for season 1 of the TV series and add it to the download queue. Then i’ll switch to Utorrent and only download the first few episodes of the series, and instruct Utorrent to skip all of the other remaining episodes. I do this because if i don’t like the TV show, i won’t have wasted my bandwidth downloading the entire series.
If I end up wanting to download the rest of the episodes in the season pack, i would normally just open utorrent, select the files within the season pack that I want to download, and change “Skip” to “normal download priority”. It would then download the rest of the series. With this method, Sonarr will not know that the rest of the episodes have been downloaded, so it will not hard copy the files into my TV folder.
Is there another way that i should be doing this? Do i have to remove the torrent from utorrent, then rescan the original file and download it again?
Thanks
EDIT: i just tried deleting the torrent, then adding it to the download queue again. Utorrent scanned the directory, but sonarr didn’t process the files. While utorrent was checking the files, the Sonarr file status for the episodes was “downloading”. Now that it’s finished checking, the status is “episode missing from disk”
