After a lot of work @kayone and I are ready to announce the alpha version of vnext. This release is a major milestone for NzbDrone and will pave the way for more features and support for Linux/OS X via mono.
In order to fix issues as quickly as possible we have setup a trello board:
Important Information
This is alpha - @kayone and myself have been using it as our production versions for some time, without any loss to our data, but we’re not guaranteeing anything. We’ll let you decide if you want to run this in a sandbox.
We’re constantly updating - this current release is checking for updates every 5 minutes (aggressive, but will get fixes out ASAP)
There is currently no migration path. You will need to re-add all your shows and settings
Again this is alpha, its not perfect, Please backup before trying this and be careful
Issues/Feature Requests
If anything isn’t working correctly or you have an idea or suggestions please add it to our trello board (http://trello.nzbdrone.com)
a couple of things, I have started from scratch on my media server (yup dropped the old drone completely) I have added all my current series and although if you go into each one it shows that the files are there for each episode on the main series screen it shows everything as 0/0
The other thing is it does not want to pick anything up as it thinks it is not being monitored by the looks of it. If I do a manual search it shows it there but the tool tip over the red exclamation mark says its not being monitored.
@mspec - Not sure whats up with the 0/0 issue - I’ll add that as an investigation.
I found the cause of the everything is unmonitored issue - I’ll be pushing a fix for it sorry, but it won’t solve your issue, since they’ve already been added. If you have an application that can access the DB directly you can run a quick query to fix the monitored status:
UPDATE Episodes SET Monitored = 1 WHERE SeasonNumber > 0
Thanks for the fast reply , ran the query and now everything appears to be working ok. Also all the seasons reflect where they are at on the main page with all the 0/0 gone.
@mspec@thebro - After trying to deal with comments on cards for issues/features, we have added you to the board so you can create your own cards there. This won’t help with brand new users, but it helps since you two are both active on there.
Feel free to propose new cards (under the New Ideas and Issues column, please, so we can triage them properly). We’re still looking at options for a more permanent and easy to use solution.
SWEETNESS! I will be moving to this as soon as I get home:-). I guess I can just stop the current version(service) install the new one. I figure I can use the same service to start the new one if the old one is renamed?
@saitoh183 - Just stop the service, rename the folder, use the old name for the new one and start the service) - Then if you need to you can always revert to the old one. As long as the path to nzbdrone.exe remains the same it will work just fine.
I really like it, except you can’t create cards if you’re not part of the team - in my eyes that ruins trello for what we wanted to do, which is too bad because the simplicity is great.
Question before I submit a card if its required. If I do a manual search on a file it returns an age of 820 days, you send it to Sab which reports it as 1720 days , why would there be a difference ??
@mspec Great question… perhaps its wrong from the indexer. I seem to remember seeing a new NZB that pointed to old files once before. Sites that do user submitted indexing (omgwtfnzbs) could possibly have this problem if a user submitted an old NZB. Can you PM me the site and nzb name, I want to take a look.
looking awesome guys… just wondering any plans to integrate pushover for notifications just checking … that would be great for one the go… excellent job and thanks for all your work
@markus101 thanks for the heads up this is looking real good nice and clean low on resources man … can’t wait til you guys implement anime … so i can finally put sickbeard to rest =)
