Hi
New to ND from SB … very nice!
Can someone explain what the option “Use Season Folder” is? The default has this option turned off. Does it mean that downloaded files aren’t sorted into individual season folders “Game of Thrones\Season 1” and “Game of Thrones\Season 2” … just everything going “flat” into “Game of Thrones”?
Why wouldn’t people want things sorted into season folders? Why is the default NOT to use season folders?
And lastly, is there a way to set the default to Use Season Folder? I’m about to move over about 900 shows to ND and don’t want to change this setting 900 times!
Thanks!
Edit: ahh, there’s a way to bulk-set the “Season Folder” in the Series Editor. Cool! But I’m still trying to understand what this option means/does…??
It controls whether or not to sort episodes into season folders, as you described.
The default is to use season folders (blue), it is a setting stored in local storage in your browser (much like a cookie), so changing it sets the default for that browser. As you discovered you can change it after adding either en mass in the series editor or series by series.
Not sure why you’d not want it in season folders, except if you only kept the latest season around, but I’m sure people have their reasons.
Hmmm … I’ve tried adding an existing show from disk and also a new show … but in both cases, the “Use Season Folder” option is set to NO. How do I change the default so it’s always set to YES?
To blue/gray toggle next t the quality profile drop down on add series (tooltip says what it is).
Ahh now I understand! And as you said earlier, the toggle state (enabled/disabled) is stored in the web browser – so I guess I must have been playing with that toggle button before and left it in the disabled state, so all later Adds had this option set to disabled. Mystery solved! Thanks.
