Yesterday I added a new show called “@midnight”. Upon searching the entire first season, it was found and downloaded successfully, although it has a different scene naming “At Midnight”, so I assume, it is already in the scene mapping list. However, after the downloads finish, when ND should pick them up from the incoming folder, it says Unknown Series At.Midnight.S01E10.720p.HDTV.x264-YesTV for every episode. Does the scene name mapping not work for the incoming folder as well or is that a problem with this special show? I am fairly sure I had this issue before with another show. The episodes get downloaded but then not picked up to be moved and renamed.
Also, kind of off-topic: Is it okay to suggest scene naming for foreign shows? I am aware that ND is supposed to work primarily for english language shows and it is great that for those shows, no dubbed episodes are downloaded. But what is with foreign shows that are available in the foreign language only, but contain the language in the release name? The show I would want ND to fetch is a german late night talk show called “Circus Halligalli”. The release name is along the lines of “CIRCUS.HALLIGALLI.S02E12.GERMAN.720P.HDTV.X264-RTL” and files are called “rtl-circus.halligalli.s02e12.720p.mkv” (unfortunately the release group name is first there. When I manually paste the download in the incoming folder, ND picks it up, it just won’t send downloads to Sab.
Incidentally, this kind of goes with my initial question: Why are release listings online and folders/files in the incoming folder treated differently? Shouldn’t downloads initiated by ND be capable of automatic post processing? And shouldn’t shows that can be processed also be found by the release search?

This is covered in the FAQ: https://github.com/NzbDrone/NzbDrone/wiki/FAQ#why-cant-nzbdrone-import-episode-files-for-series-x--why-cant-nzbdrone-find-releases-for-series-x - The reason is the scene mapping isn’t there, the episode was found by using the tvrage id (supported by newznab indexers), we initially try to match by the name, but if it fails we fall back to the tvrage id, but the import relies on the name only. Please add it to the list and I’ll get it added.

The release name and tvdb name look to be the same so a scene naming exception isn’t required. The fact that the filename has the release group at the start of the filename won’t matter as it uses the folder name to determine the series (as long as its in a folder). Drone currently rejects all non-english releases, which is why it won’t download episodes for that series. The ability to download in other languages has been requested and is on Trello: https://trello.com/c/snXtin0p/231-foreign-language-support

They’re handled differently due to the tvrage id being available or not (as explained a bit more above).
Since it relies on the series name on disk there isn’t much we can do, we could append additional details to the file name when sending it to SAB (like CP does), but we’d rather the names getting added to the exception list.
Do you have a specific instance of this case (can import but not find), may be due to the fact that the tvrage id is searched, unless its unknown, but it is possible if that the indexer has the wrong id (or none at all).
