Description of issue:

I don’t usually post on forums requesting assistance as I like to find a solution myself however, I really am lost with this.

So I had Sonarr working 100% on my desktop which was running Windows 7. I have one 60gb SSD solely for the OS to sit on and a 4TB HDD for all my media.

I decided to ditch Windows 7 and move to Ubuntu 16.04 (Still a n00b with Linux but getting there)

Anyway, my issue is I’m unable to point Sonarr to my 4TB hdd as the disk isn’t showing in “Import Existing Series On Disk” but it is in “My Computer”

Any Ideas??

I’m guessing “My Computer” abstracts away the “real” location* of your disks, which would be /dev/sdx, e.g. /dev/sda for the first disk, /dev/sdb for the second disk etc.

*yes, yes, /dev/ is an abstraction too

Hi Thirrian,

Thank you for the reply and I’m sorry for my poor choice of words as I’m only new to Linux.

When I select “Import Existing Series On Disk”, I am given a window with the entire file structure (bin, cd rom, dev, media, mnt, home etc)

If I open dev/Administrator(username) I’m unable to see sda, sdb sdx etc - See attached

I’m still unable to point Sonarr to my second hdd which contains all my media.

Please see attached

Ok… how about System > Status in sonarr?
That should list the location of the available drives and free diskspace etc.

Yeah only my 60gb SSD is visible there

Would the 4TB HDD you mention in your first post be the one listed as “Huzay Ext HDD” in your last screenshot by any chance?
Because I’m not 100% sure sonarr even looks at external disks. But as I say, I’m really not sure so don’t quote me on this

Nah sorry that’s my ext hdd. “Plex” is the name of the 4TB that is connected by Sata.

I shouldn’t have connected it my bad.

When I was running Windows 7, I had Sonarr pointing at the 4TB (Plex)
